“Max the Match” campaign to support Rochester charities
Rochester design-build construction company DBS Group is gearing up for an exciting community initiative. On November 21, as part of Give to the Max Day. The company is pledging to match donations up to $3,000 each for three impactful local nonprofits: Boys & Girls Club of Rochester, Gift of Life Transplant House, and Paws and Claws Humane Society. To sweeten the deal, the nonprofit with the most individual donors will receive an additional $3,000 in matching funds, doubling their total match to $6,000.
The initiative is designed not only to boost funds for the participating nonprofit organizations but also to reinforce that every gift counts, whether it’s $10 or $10,000, and to encourage everyone in the community who can give to experience the joy that comes with it.
“At DBS Group, we believe in giving back to the community that supports us,” said DBS Group Vice President Jeff Anneke. “Rochester is a special place, and we’re proud to stand with these organizations that are making a difference. Max the Match is our way of amplifying the generosity of others and helping these nonprofits achieve their missions.”
In all, the matching initiative has the potential to generate more than $20,000 in total donations, creating a substantial impact that will strengthen vital services for youth, transplant patients, and homeless animals in the Rochester area.
For Gift of Life Transplant House, the match presents an opportunity to continue to provide high-quality, affordable lodging to transplant patients and their caregivers. “We’re grateful for DBS Group’s generosity,” said Executive Director Mary Wilder. “This match will help us offer affordable lodging to families facing one of the most challenging journeys they will ever face. It’s truly a gift to the entire transplant community.”
Paws and Claws Humane Society is excited about the partnership. “This matching donation could not have come at a better time,” said Shelter Director Tanya Johnson. “It will help us continue rescuing animals and placing them in loving homes. The additional boost from DBS Group means even more pets will find their forever families. We just need to rally the community now to help us ‘Max the Match!'”
Boys & Girls Club of Rochester is also looking forward to the opportunities presented by the initiative. Director of Resource Development Andrea Chapman said the match will help her organization continue to provide a safe and supportive environment for youth in the community and help support expansion efforts. “It’s incredible to see businesses step up in such a meaningful way,” she said.
DBS Group’s Give to the Max campaign marks the second consecutive year the company has matched gifts to help Rochester area nonprofits. Last year, the company partnered with the Rochester Area Foundation to match gifts to its fiscal-sponsorship partners.
“I grew up in this community, and it’s incredibly gratifying to be able to give back to the community that shaped my childhood,” said Chris Walters, president of DBS Group. “One of our core values at DBS Group is doing the right thing for our communities. We’re thankful we can support the nonprofits here as they address critical unmet needs and benefit all of us.”
